This colourful musical with a twist at the end, full of
Manilow’s best numbers, was wonderfully
done.
Good staging, a splendid orchestra and excellent choreography
resulted in a super show, with
some smashing performances from both the men and ladies of the
company.
Lola was played very well indeed by Catherine Lewis, and I enjoyed
Daniel James as Tony –
although young, he matched well with Catherine.
Jeanie Brocklehurst and Phil Murray both equipped themselves well
for the roles for Gladys and
Sam.
I thought Jane Chance was excellent as Conchita and the heated
relationship between her and
Rico (Aaron Cawley) was handled to great effect. A sparkling finale
brought the evening to a
close. A production you can be proud of.
